T.L.C.
But, what if all this
law of thought stuff is wrong? What if we just don’t
know what’s actually real and what isn’t?
Big
D In
point of fact, no human being confined to a physical body knows with absolute
certainty what’s real and what isn’t. Every conscious human
action is a “best guess” based on the available evidence, based on personal
belief, or based on personal experience. So you’d be wise to act
in ways that result in the most positive and least damaging consequences
regardless of which of The
Three
Religious Assumptions
turns out to be correct and regardless of which of the three assumptions you
believe to be correct.
T.L.C.
You’d better explain that
to me.
Big
D OK.
It’s like a safety net you put under yourself in case you fall down.
Do you recall my saying that when deciding on what action to take, it’s always
advisable to consider how you will correct your mistake later, if your action
turns out to be wrong?
T.L.C.
Yes, I recall that.
Big
D So,
whenever possible, you’d best take actions where mistakes are fixable.
T.L.C.
Does that also relate to the
anti-abortion promoters?
Big
D It
relates to everyone, regardless of what they do. As an example,
suppose you’re a promoter of the anti-abortion campaign and:
You know about Genesis 2:7
you know you are defying
God’s own words in the Bible;
You know about all the
grief and misery you are causing for millions of people by your
anti-abortion, anti-sex education, anti-birth control rhetoric;
You intentionally
ignore caring for already-born babies and thus, allow thousands of
babies to die needlessly. You know you could easily re-direct your
efforts and actually save thousands of lives, but you don’t.
and, in spite of your knowledge,
You still ignore all the already-born
babies;
You still ignore the
very words you preach to others about following God’s words in the
Bible; and
You continue to peddle the anti-abortion
philosophy because it’s
making you lots of money, it’s boosting your ego, and you’re getting you
lots of attention.[2]*
Then one morning, you wake up dead.
T.L.C.
Wake up dead?
Big
D Well,
you really don’t wake up in the physical sense. I’m talking
about the day your Earth life is over. On that morning, is it
possible to go back to Earth and correct your mistakes?
T.L.C.
No.
Big
D So,
if the Christians are right, you find yourself facing God’s judgment, and
you’re on your way to hellfire and damnation forever. If the
believers in reincarnation are right, you’re either off Scott free or you’ve
got to come back to Earth and experience untold amounts of grief and misery.
If the atheists are right, you simply don’t wake up at all and there are no
consequences.
So, in terms of saving babies, what’s the wisest thing to do?
T.L.C.
Well, now that you make the
choices so clear, obviously focusing on saving already-born babies is the safest
choice.
Big
D Why?
T.L.C.
Because, if the Christians
are right, I’d get to heaven to be with Jesus and all the good folks, and if
reincarnation is right, in future lives, I’d most likely get my life saved and
I’d get cared for, and if atheist are right, there’s still no consequences.
Big
D And
what did I just tell you about those who are peddling the anti-abortion
rhetoric, creating all that misery, and ignoring the already born babied, what
happens to them when they die?
T.L.C.
If the Christians are right,
they are off to hell forever, and if reincarnation is right, in future lives,
they could get lifetimes of grief and misery, and if atheist are right,
there’s still no consequences.
That’s easy to figure out, and I’ve got that part, but there’s
something’s really way out of whack here.
Big
D And
what’s that?
T.L.C.
I don’t understand why anyone in their right mind would do what the anti-abortion promoters are
doing? The potential negative consequences to their actions are
astronomical.
Big
D You
mean because if the Christian philosophy is correct, the anti-abortion promoters
are condemning themselves to eternal hellfire and damnation?
T.L.C.
Yes. I don’t
understand why they’d do that.
Big
D You’d
best ask them. I see only two possibilities. Either
they’re completely asleep and are functioning as mindless, mechanically
controlled robots, or they’re ego-atheists and the devil's disguised as Christians.
Remember
the warning about being aware of wolves in sheep's clothing.°
T.L.C.
The options they're facing aren’t
very pleasant.
Big
D Well,
if you think that doesn’t make sense, consider for a minute their ardent
supporters, consider all those sheep that just mindlessly do what the
anti-abortion leaders tell them. These people are facing the same
potential, infinitely-painful consequences and are not even making any money, or
getting their egos boosted, or getting all that attention.
T.L.C.
This sounds like another Big
D con job.
Big
D And
that’s because it is. Can you see now how neatly I’ve got humans going around in ass-backwards
circles? It’s a variation of the “Catch 22” theme, which, by
the way, is another of my little creations.
