The billions of people who
believe in reincarnation don't believe the Christian story about God's Conception Magic Act.. They believe that
they are already eternal beings. They believe that they simply inhabit a series of
replaceable, human bodies. How come they don't
have the right to practice their religion?
Because
present day technology provides no conclusive answers about which one of the
three assumptions (Atheism,
Reincarnation, and Religious One-life-ism).
is correct, we are still left with only speculation,
conjecture, guesswork, and personal opinions as to what abortion is and what it
means. Even the technical data.
we do have has to be interpreted as to what
it means and that again returns us to speculation, conjecture, guesswork, and
personal opinions.
The
ultra-conservative, anti-abortionist Christian leaders
would have you believe that people who hold religious beliefs that are different
from theirs should be denied freedom of religion. For example, they
ignore Genesis 2:7 in the Christian Bible which
clearly says life begins at first breath. They
clearly intend to deny the religious freedom to those who
actually believe that Bible is correct.
And as another example: If they have their way, those who follow the
Jewish religion and those who adhere to the reincarnation religions
would also be denied their religious freedom.
They even deny the United States Constitution which prohibits the government
from endorsing one religion and denying freedom of religion to another.
To
these who ardently claim exclusive access to God, we ask:
How
do you know that you are right and the billions who believe in reincarnation are
wrong? Nobody is attempting to force
you to practice someone else's religion. It is you who are
attempting to force others to practice your religion. Under such
circumstances, is it unreasonable to
ask that you prove that reincarnation is false and prove that God's magic
act at conception is
true? Is it unreasonable to
ask that you prove the zygote, embryo, fetus is the human being? Are you your physical body?
Why
don't you just prove that you are your body?
Then we could stop all this fighting over whose belief is correct.
Do
the billions of people who believe in reincarnation have a right to practice
their religion? Why do
anti-abortionists adamantly claim religious freedom for themselves and then deny
that same right to others?
So
before you send the police to enforce the unenforceable, please just
provide a tangible, provable answer to this question: Is
a human being "an eternal spirit " or simply "flesh
and bones?"
