   The Essence of your Vision

Summarize your program is three sentences

1)   Abortion is a religious freedom issue and we have an
        overwhelming amount of
evidence with which we can can easily
       prove this to you.
More Evidence        More Evidence

2)   The goal of the Pro-Truth Team is to bring the truth, the whole
truth, and only the truth about abortion to the public's attention
        in an accurate, informative manner,
using correct, clear,

non-inflammatory language, so that each person can make up his
or her own mind about rightness or wrongness of forcing
someone else to bear a child.
**

3)   Our program is designed to show you that pregnancy and
potential motherhood are incredibly personal, private, religious,
and medical issues that must be addressed by the woman herself,
within the context of her own needs, desires, conditions, and
circumstances and with the support of family, friends and with
the guidance of her medical and spiritual advisors.

**  Regarding the Pro-Truth Team being accused of
hypocrisy, we refer the viewers to
the section titled:

The Real Truth     ...  2.

   The Truest Truth

What's the truest truth about abortion?

The "Truest Truth" about Abortion is that  WE  DON'T  KNOW  THE  TRUTH!    And we have no way to find the truth!

When you are talking about abortion and you what to know the truth,  you must first  find the truth about what a human being actually is.    Are you your physical body?   Were you created by God at conception?   Are you an eternal being temporarily inhabiting a body?   Are you only a clump of dust that has somehow magically acquired consciousness?

You can't know the significance of abortion until you can answer these question and dozens more equally  puzzling and equally unanswerable, religious  questions.   When you talk about abortion, you're also talking about God, about religion, and about when an independent human life begins.  And in this area:  Nobody can say with certainty that he or she is correct and that everyone else is wrong.    More Evidence        More Evidence

.

.

3.

   Who's right?

Christians say God created each of us at conception.   The Eastern religions teach that we are eternal beings simply living temporarily in human bodies.   Whose right?

Nobody knows for sure.   The fact that nobody can answer that question with provable certainty is the essence of our pro-choice argument.   When you can't prove something one way or another, we need to allow people the right to make their own choices.

.

.

4.

   Saving Babies?

The Pro-life people say they are saving babies.   What's wrong with that?

The actions of the so-called "pro-life" leaders do not save any lives.   Their actions only transfer death onto different beings at different times and places, and, in the process, they precipitate poverty and misery onto millions, and promote the extinction of species at a rate paralleled only by the extinction of the dinosaurs.

They ignore the 40,000 already-born babies that starve to death every day or who die from curable diseases.   They  spend vast amounts of time, money, and effort saving the lives of a few human embryos, and in the process, consume the resources that could easily be used to save the lives of thousands of already born children.

If their goal really was saving innocent children's lives, they're doing a dismally poor job.    They could save several hundred times as many innocent live by focusing on already born babies.   And they could do this without offending millions of people.

5.

   Hidden agenda

If the ant-abortionists are not out to save babies, then what are they doing and why are they doing it.?

The real intention of the anti abortion leaders is to promote their political agenda.   Abortion is little more than a convenient tool.   They have openly proclaimed their intention to dominate the Republican political structure and, in so doing, create what they call a “Christian America.”

But don't believe me!   Read it for yourself in the words of one of the movement's most adamant anti-abortionists, Ralph Reed.   (His book:   Active Faith - How Christians Are Changing the Soul of American Politics, By Ralph Reed; The Free Press;  New York, NY; 1996.)

You also need to understand that their anti-abortion campaign is a huge money maker, and it provides the anti-choice leaders with a great deal of political power, publicity, and prestige that they otherwise would never have.

.

.

6.

   Abortion and Religion

Why is abortion a religious issue?

1)   Because when you examine the abortion issue from each of the three possible assumptions about life,  Atheism,    Christian One-life-ism,   and Reincarnation,  three very different meanings emerge.

2)  Because those opposing abortion rights are primarily conservative Christians, and their opposition is based primarily on their unprovable, religious beliefs.

3)   Because billions of people hold beliefs in direct opposition to those of the ant-abortionists.

4)  Because The Truest Truth about Abortion is that  WE  DON'T  KNOW  THE  TRUTH!    And we have no way to find the truth!

5)   Because nobody can say with certainty that his/her belief is correct and that everyone else is wrong.

6)   And we could use the Roman Catholic Pope's logic and offer our version of a papal decree:  "Abortion is a religious issue because we say it is."

.

.

6a.

Trivializing Religion

Your Critics say you are trivializing Religion.   How do you respond to that?

Quite the opposite is true.   We are proposing a spiritual revival, BUT that does not mean we want more of the same, old, tired, one-way-my-way, religious dogma that has so perversely polluted the minds of the religious followers.

We are proposing a spiritual revival in the sense that we are stop listening to ancient religious fairytales that simple don't make sense.    We are proposing that we acknowledge who and what we are.

We are each eternal divine beings.°   We cannot divorce ourselves from who and what we are.°     We cannot divorce ourselves from our spiritual nature.   We cannot take that spiritual nature out of our personal lives, our businesses, our careers, our work, or our governments.°

We are suggesting the Christians take back Christianity from those using fake sacredness to elicit money, workers for their organization, and to stroke their own egos.   We are suggesting that humans approach the infinite source of all (commonly referred to as God)  from a combination of head and heart -- from a position of questioning the words of every religious leader and challenging those statements that simply don't make any sense° in the light today's scientific evidence.

Religious leader make totally unsubstantiated, unprovable and sometimes wild statements°  about what God is, what he does, and what He wants you to do.   Does God really want you to put your money unto the pockets of these so-called religious leaders?  Does life really begin at conception,°  as these men claim it does?   We are simple asking them to show us the evidence (show us the proof)  or stop trying to push  their religious beliefs into government laws that force non-believers to practice someone else's religion.

The bottom line is we really don't know anything about God.°   Even the Christian Bible tells us that.°   So how about letting each of us make our own choices about what spiritual beliefs to practice.°     And again we say,  "It's time for Christians to take back Christianity."

.

.

7.

   Life Begins When?

When does life begin?

Do you want the Fundamentalist Christian anti-abortion answer or  the answer according to the Eastern religions?   Do you want the Christian Bible's answer, the Jewish Talmud's answer or the Muslim Koran's answer?   Do you want the atheists answer or the agnostics answer?  Do you want the scientific answer, or the legal answer?  How about the plain common sense answer? **

** Reference:  An Interview With "The Devil"
                     Section 05, Life Begins When?

With all those different points of view, the obvious answer is "We don't know."   Nobody can prove when life begins.   All we have is speculation, guesswork, opinions, religious doctrine, and personal beliefs.   How about re-asking the question in this way:

When do we, as a society, choose to grant a developing, human,
life-form the status of a separate, sovereign, individual human
being and accorded him or her full human rights?

.

.

8.

    The Future

Since there aren't any answers, why all the fighting and where is all this leading us?

By attempting to force their religious beliefs onto the rest of us, a small, dedicated group of ultra-conservative Christians have inadvertently opened the door and invited the rest of us to challenge the very foundation of their antiquated Christian religious doctrine.   They've made a big mistake because their doctrine ignores the evidence and it ignores the truth as expressed in the Bible.   Instead, their doctrine offers us some absolutely unprovable fairytales which they claim as proof and as their reason for demanding that governments outlaw abortion.

They've hijacked Christianity and pulled it down from its rightful place as one of the world's great religion and turned into a circus of the absurd.   Those of us who are Christian are about to take back Christianity.

.

.

9.

   Back to the Future

I've heard you say that you intend to take back Christianity?   That doesn't make any sense.   It sounds like you're simply adding another denomination to the over 3,000 that already exist.

No, three thousand denominations is enough.   We're simply exposing antiquated dogma to the light of open questioning and saying:

"If you have some proof to back up your claims, we would like to
see it.   If not, please take your religious beliefs back to church
and stop trying to force your religion onto the rest of us with
        government laws."

The long-term result will be a global religious transformation away from belief in dozens of antiquated illusions that are presently accepted as facts in spite of their being no evidence to support them.

.

.

10.

   Why Talk Religion?

Much of the information on your web site and in your books uses religious language     Why?

Because the religious rhetoric of the anti-choice people  is the basis upon which most people make their decision about the rightness or wrongness of forcing someone else to have a baby.

People are being intentionally  misinformed and manipulated by the anti-choice leaders who are using public opinion to advance their own political agenda.   By focusing on marketing and ignoring the evidence, the anti-abortionists are winning the fight for public opinion and votes.

The goal of The Pro-Truth Team is to interject the factual evidence, or more accurately, the lack of factual evidence,  into this battle and to do so using the language that our viewers and listeners understand.

For example the real core issue in the entire anti-abortion war  is:   Is a human being  "an eternal spirit " or simply  "flesh and bones?"   What is the nature of a zygote/ embryo/ fetus?  Is it a freshly created brand new human being the God magically created at conception or is it simply a vehicle which temporarily gives earthly presence to an eternal divine being?

Have you ever heard this issue discussed in any public debate on abortion?   It's the key to winning or losing this religious war, so why not?    The answer is simply because pro-choice people haven't brought it up.    The anti-abortion campaign is a religious war, and as long as the pro-choice side ignores or denies this fact, they are going to continue their dismal losing streak.

.

.

.

11.

   Conception Magic

I've heard you mention God's conception magic act.  What is this?  Where did it come from?  Is it fact or fiction?  And what is its relevance to abortion?

Here's what it is.  When the anti-abortionists use the word “conception,” they are not referring simply to the biology of male and female cells uniting.   They are referring to an additional process -- a process where God steps in and, by an act of instantaneous, supernatural, transcendental magic, transforms every uniting human egg and sperm into a brand new,  never-before-existing, separate, complete, eternal, everlasting, sovereign, human being.

They believe that God magically creates a brand new, separate, complete, sovereign, individual, human being every time a human egg and sperm unite.    They believe this brand new human being did not exist the moment before conception, but will continue to exist forever more.

As for where it came from,  this belief appears to have have been lying around for centuries.   As near as we can tell, it comes from the speculation and guesswork of the early Roman Catholic Church leaders.   These are the same people who also believed that the Earth was flat.

Regarding whether it's  fact or fiction,  there is no evidence to support it.   Even the United Sates Supreme Court, couldn't find any factual evidence or any scientific research data to support the belief that a separate, independent, individual human life begins at conception.

Regarding its relevance to abortion, God's magic act is the foundation of the entire anti-abortion argument.   It's the basis upon which the anti-choice people have declared that an independent human life begins at conception.  The logic goes like this:   God creates a new human being at every conception, therefore, every fertilized egg is a human being, therefore abortion is murder, therefore abortion should be prohibited by government law.

   God Versus Religion

What's  the difference between the basis philosophy of a religion and its social structure?

The difference is like comparing a meal with the menu at a restaurant, the meal being the essence and the menu being the social structure.   You can easily have the meal without the menu, but not the opposite.

In Christianity, for example, the teachings of Jesus represent the meal.   His teachings are the basis of Christianity.   Some ancient men that dominated early Christianity wrote stories about the teachings of Jesus.  Later the dominant males who controlled the budding Christian religion put together several of these stories about Jesus and numerous other writings and created a menu.   That menu is called the Christian Bible.   Since then, Christianity has split into numerous factions and each group of dominant males set up a separate social institution and wrote its own interpretation of the Bible, which they call "church doctrine. "   Present day church leaders  use that doctrine in their attempt to control the followers by telling them what to think and what to believe.

The Christian Churches have even added one more ring to this circus by declaring that they, themselves, have exclusive access to God.    They have declared that all  the other religions  are simply make believe religions which are, symbolically speaking, only selling junk food.

There are several interpretations of the Bible and thousands of social groups,  each with its own version of "the truth."   In keeping with normal human nature, some of those in charge of the social structures have lost track of the truth in their desire and need to be in charge.   The most outspoken groups fight with each other for dominance and control, and many even endorse murder and mayhem to support their beliefs.

The Bottom Line:  We have religious leaders telling people what their particular church's doctrine means.    That doctrine is an ancient, outdated, often literal interpretation of the Christian Bible.   The Christian Bible is collection of stories about someone's interpretation of the teachings of Jesus.   All of which leaves us four steps removed from the truth.

To again use the restaurant analogy, if you want to be nourished and healthy, you must  eat the food and not a story about a story about a menu.

   The Price of Motherhood

Why are you so concerned about abortion rights?

Because bearing a child has a multitude of life-changing, irreversible, long-term ramifications for every woman and for everyone her life touches.  The first and most significant effect of pregnancy is on the woman herself.     The decision to bear or not bear a child affects:

pink shinny bullet   her life style,

pink shinny bullet   her standard of living,

pink shinny bullet   her financial earning capacity,

pink shinny bullet   her actual income level,

pink shinny bullet   her financial well being

pink shinny bullet   her social life,

pink shinny bullet   her social status,

.

pink shinny bullet   her family,

pink shinny bullet   her friends,

pink shinny bullet   her choice of friends,

pink shinny bullet   her relationship with the man who got her pregnant,

pink shinny bullet   and all the rest of her personal relationships,

.

pink shinny bullet   her education level,

pink shinny bullet   her career,

pink shinny bullet   the entirety of the rest of her life, particularly

pink shinny bullet   the next 18 years required to raise a child

.

pink shinny bullet   her physical body,

pink shinny bullet   her physical beauty,

pink shinny bullet   her sex life,

pink shinny bullet   her sexual appeal,

pink shinny bullet   her emotional well-being,

pink shinny bullet   her psychological health,

pink shinny bullet   her physical health,

pink shinny bullet   and, it could even cost her her life.

.

And if that's not enough, there are the thousands of hours and the hundreds of thousands of dollars required to adequately raise and educate a child.

Does it seem reasonable that a decision with consequences of this magnitude would fall into the category of one's God-granted right of self determination?

.

.

14.

   Church Marries State

What's your major problem with the pro-life people

They are attempting to use force of violence or threat of violence to force the rest of us to practice their religion.

.

.

15.

   Assumptions Presented as Facts

What's the major flaw in their arguments?

Their arguments are based on unprovable assumptions.  If their assumptions are invalid, then their arguments and their conclusions are also invalid.

.

.

16.

   Where Is Everybody Else?

If abortion really is a religious issue, why aren't the other pro-choice organizations pursuing this route?

I've wondered that myself.   Perhaps you'd be willing to contact them and ask them that question.   Please read the open letter to pro-choice women on this web site.

But then, every groundbreaker, every explorer,  every visionary stands alone, at least for a while.

.

.

17.

   The Lunatic Fringe

How do you know that you are not just another lunatic
with another crazy idea?

The evidence answers that question.   I invite you to accept
The Abortion Truth Challenge on our web site at:  http://www.pro-truth.net/18-truth-challenge.html

I invite you to look at the evidence in my books and on the Pro-Truth web site at http://www.pro-truth.net.   Then you tell me.

You might want to read our vision statement.   Perhaps you might also like to know what's out there right now in the lunatic fringe.   And one other point:  In a society of lunatics, a sane person would be considered crazy.

.

.

18.

   An Interview with "The Devil"

The subtitle to your book   An Interview With "The Devil"   is
Exposing and Examining the Hidden and Previously Ignored Aspects of the Abortion Controversy.   What does that mean?

Major and important aspects of the abortion controversy are being ignored or intentionally avoided by the anti-choice people.   The Interview with "The Devil"  book brings these previously out-of-sight aspects of the abortion controversy into the public spotlight.   For example, most people do not know:

     1)   That the anti-choice leaders created the political "Global Gag

Rule" which  is hypocrisy raised to an art form,

      2)   That anti-choice Christians are denying their own Bible

      3)   That abortion is being presented to the public from a Christian
perspective only and that the reincarnation religion's
              perspective is being completely ignored.

.

.

19.

Abortion --  The Secret Religious war

The subtitle to your book   Abortion -- The Secret Religious War  is

A View of Abortion Without the Illusions, the Unprovable Assumptions, or the Media Hype.     What does that mean?

If you want to give a fair presentation of the arguments for and against abortion, one needs to provide accurate information and present it in correct, clear, non-inflammatory language.   Those presently promoting forced motherhood are doing neither.

Presently, the public is being given a heavily distorted one sided view of abortion by the fundamentalist Christian, anti-abortion leaders who have a hidden political agenda.   They are using abortion to sway public opinion and get themselves into the big-money positions of political power and influence.

One of the book's purposes and the goal of The Pro-Truth Team is to expose their behavior and challenge them to defend their position in public forums.
