There is, however, one slight problem with your outright and rather heated rejection of our co-creation offer.   You and your pro-choice women friends are losing the war,  or haven’t you noticed that yet.   If your close-minded response to my offer represents, as you imply it does, the attitudes and mindsets of most pro-choice women, it’s easy to see why you’re being trounced so badly.

So go ahead, blindly reject the Pro-truth Team approach.   Spurn our offer to work together.   Just continue doing more of the same  and  the same thing harder.   But remember, taking the same action and expecting a different result is one of the classic signs of insanity.

My Offer of Service: 

In reply to your suggestion that I offer my services to the existing pro-choice organizations, I’ve already done that and in response, was accepted like rain at a picnic.   Stuffing envelopes or standing on a picket line were open options, but nobody was interested in discussing or even hearing about new tactics, alternative strategies, or anything else out of the ordinary.   For example, when I mentioned the freedom of religion approach to abortion rights, I was rudely told by one of the leaders with the statement, “Abortion is not a religious issue” and then summarily dismissed from her presence.

Dedication to the Cause:  

And yes, I do acknowledge and appreciate your dedication to this cause, but do you think you’re the only one?   I, too, have spent years  “in the trenches”  on this issue.    I’ve been on the picket lines, infiltrated and participated in the anti-choice activities, read many of their books and much of their literature, offered my services to the pro-choice organizations, written two books on this topic, and supported two abortions to as great an extent as a man can.

Knowing  What to Say:

With regard to speaking about abortion in a public forum, you call my language “patronizing and arrogant” and then assert that my letter implies women are incompetent and don’t know what to say.   That assertion is your creation, not mine.   Your response ignores the real question:

“If you do know what to say, 
why aren’t you saying it?”

I acknowledge that the Internet does have some excellent material, but, in spite of listening intently to the voices of the women’s movement, I’ve yet to hear/see anything on radio, television, or in a newspaper other than the tired, old, party line.

How many of you have even once publicly demanded of the anti-abortion promoters that they prove the veracity of those fantasies and fairytales they so ardently peddle as factual truths?   Some of you even refuse to discuss abortion with the no-choicers and, in so doing, allow their voice to be the only one heard.   How many of you have openly challenged even one of these unprovable assumptions:

   Every time a human egg and sperm unite, God steps in and, by an act of instantaneous, supernatural, transcendental magic, creates a brand new human being who did not exist the moment before conception, but who will continue to exist forevermore.

   The newly fertilized egg magically becomes an independent sovereign human being who is to be accorded full human rights.  Egg rights supercede the wishes, desires, and the freewill choice of the woman in whose body the egg resides.

   From the moment of creation (conception) to the moment of death, a human being is his or her physical body.   At death, he or she magically becomes something other than his or her physical body and goes to heaven or hell forever.

   Independent human life begins at conception.

   The billions of humans who believe in reincarnation do not deserve the right to practice their own religion.

And regarding your being insulted by portions of my e-mail, may I remind you that insult, like beauty (and ugliness) is in the eye of the beholder.   As one of your fellow women, Rev. Terry Cole Whittaker, so aptly said, “What you think of me is none of my business.”

The Bottom Line:

Now to be masculine and give you the bottom line.

You're being:

   outgunned,

   outclassed, and

   outmaneuvered 
by the anti-abortionists at just about every turn.

The anti-abortion peddlers have:

   determined the playing field,

   defined the language,

   taken the offensive,

   are very efficiently orchestrating 
a unified and coordinated assault 
on abortion rights,

   are running an incredibly effective 
spin-the-truth campaign, 
and

   they have a clearly defined, long-term plan 
for accomplishing their objectives - -
a plan which incorporates the highly effective
Kaizen approach to problem solving.

       Does the pro-choice movement have any such plan?   In what ways are your women's groups supporting each other and coordinating their efforts?   How many of you have challenged their pro-life label?   Have you examined and effectively exposed the long-term, global consequences of forcing poor and desperate women into producing still more unhealthy, unwanted children?

 Where have you taken the initiative and put the opposition on the defensive?   What about the adoption-option-fantasy?   Have you challenged that?  And how many of you have you even considered the possibility that abortion is a religious freedom issue?

Gender Bias:

You also might note that the anti-abortion movement is controlled almost exclusively by men.   In my research, I found that most of the women in the anti-abortion movement, even many of the women in key positions, still adhere to the antiquated belief that women should be subservient to men.   And one other thing - - several of “the boys” (as you choose to call us) here at "Men For Choice" have wombs.

A New Vision:

The Pro-Truth Team is a group of men and women dedicated to a completely new vision.   Our vision and our intention is to expose the fallacies, the fantasies, and the false, self-righteous foundation of the anti-abortion movement and in so doing, to put an end to the anti-abortion war.

The Pro-Truth Team intends to continue speaking out on this issue, and whether or not you like our style is irrelevant.   Why?

l    Because the fundamentalist Christian attack on abortion rights is far more than just an abortion rights issue;

l    Because the anti-abortionists are winning the war;

l    Because, with rare exception, the women’s movement has, by intent or by default, chosen not to confront the anti-abortionists’ religious fantasies;

l    Because, the present pro-choice strategy  ignores the problem (religious tyranny and political control) and fights the symptom (a secular attack on pro-choice rights)   and,

l    Because The Pro-Truth Team has a viable, effective and vitally needed game plan that will, when properly implemented, literally end the anti-abortion war and insure every woman’s right to intentionally terminate her pregnancy.

An Invitation:

So now, you are again at choice - - you can become offended at this letter also and again spurn my offer, or you can ask yourself:  "What's more important, my ego or women's reproductive rights?"

You might also ask yourself, "In the face of this new information"  "Who do I choose to be?   What do I choose to do now?"   Here are the three choices that I see:

You can co-create the new vision with us,

you can replicate our course of action,  or

you can continue along your present path back to coat-hanger abortions.

The choice is yours.   But with or without your cooperation, Men For Choice is stepping into the fray!   And one final point to consider:  Although we'll each be somewhat successful by our selves, our combined efforts could create wonders far beyond anything either one of us could ever produce alone.
